SPFL (Scottish League): beIN Media Group acquires TV rights in 26 countries until 2019-20

The Qatari pay-TV group beIN Media Group acquired the rights to broadcast the SPFL in MENA (24 countries), Australia and New Zealand, on 02/10/2018, for two seasons until 2019-20.

These rights were acquired from Infront, the Swiss marketing and media rights agency, and holder of the international media rights of the FBCL since 31/08/2018. Infront replaced the British agency MP & Silva, which had an agreement to hold these rights until 2021-22.

The SPFL terminated its contract with MP & Silva for non-payment on 13/08/2018.

• "A ten season deal with MP & Silva is being terminated after the rights holder defaulted on a number of payments due to the SPFL, and to other leagues around the world. The termination of the present agency contact, which was signed in 2013, will have no material impact on the record-breaking club fees paid and expected to be paid for season 2017-18," stated the Scottish Football League on 13/08/2018.
