LaLiga: Athletic Club and Real Sociedad co-organise a singing competition before the Basque derby

Athletic Club Bilbao and Real Sociedad de Futbol (LaLiga Santander) are organising the "BertsoDerbia", a common cultural event that consists of a Basque singing competition, on Thursday 04/10/2018, the day before the match between the two clubs in the Spanish league at the Estadio San Mamés (Matchday 8, on Friday 05/10/2018, kick-off at 21:00 CET).

Set up in 2012 by the foundations of Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, the BertsoDerbia stages three "bertsolaris" (Basque classical singers) representing each club, chosen beforehand by the fans. The event, open for free to the public, takes place this season at the Olalde Aretoa, a scenic area located in the Basque city of Mungia, 20km from Bilbao.

"BertsoDerbia is an event from the Athletic Club and Real Sociedad Foundations to claim a healthy and inspiring rivalry, which takes place on the pitch and on stage, where we go hand in hand but as rivals," said the two Basque clubs.
