Nike : Net profit up 40 % to € 393 million for September, October and November 2013

The American sportswear company Nike announced a € 393 million ($ 537 million) net profit for the second quarter of its 2014 fiscal year (from the 01/09 to the 30/11/2013), on the 12/12/2013. This represents a 40% increase compared to the same period in 2012.

"Our strong second quarter results show why Nike leads the industry. Because we never stop innovating, we enhance our ability to serve the athlete, inspire consumers and elevate the marketplace," said Mark Parker, President and CEO of Nike Inc., on the 12/12/2013.

The group's quarterly revenue increased 8% up to € 4.7 billion, € 4.5 billion solely for Nike (+9%) and € 264 million for Converse (+11%), another brand of the group whose growth has been very strong in North America, the UK and China.

Orders for the period of December 2013-April 2014 went up 12% compared to the same period in 2012 to reach € 7.6 million.

During the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (from the 12/06 to the 13/07/2014), Nike will supply the official kit of 10 out of 32 participating national teams, including France and Brazil.
