England: Samsung's contest offers amateur players three professional contracts

The final of the "Win a pro contract" competition, organised and sponsored by Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung, takes place at Swindon Town's (League One, English third division) County Ground, on the 12/01/2014.

22 amateur players will play an 11-a-side game hoping to be spotted by the scouts of the three clubs partnering the contest: Swindon Town, Leyton Orient (League One) and Wycombe Wanderers (League Two, English fourth division). A select group of players from the final will then be invited by the three managers to spend a boot-camp week training with the first team, before final decisions are made. Each club offers one professional contract, starting in 2014-15.

"Some of these players will have dropped out of the league system and had experience before - this is a second chance for them," said Gareth Ainsworth, the manager of Wycombe Wanderers, on the 19/12/2013.
