USA: 1 million TV viewers for Liverpool - PSG, a record for a Champions League group match

Liverpool FC (Premier League) - Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) (3-2), Matchday 1 of Group C of the 2018-19 Champions League, drew over one million TV viewers in the United States on pay-TV channels TNT (330,000, English language) and Univision (672,000, Spanish language), on Tuesday 18/09/2018 (kick-off at 21:00 CET, 15:00 US East Coast time and midday West Coast time).

This is an audience record in the United States for a Champions League group match. During the 2017-18 season, no match, except for the Real Madrid CF - Liverpool FC final (3-1), drew more than one million viewers on the English and Spanish channels of FOX Sports (broadcaster of the Champions League in the United States over the 2009-2018 cycle).

Turner Sports, a subsidiary of the Time Warner group, and the Spanish-language audiovisual group, Univision Communications, acquired the rights to broadcast the European Cups in the United States over the 2018-2021 cycle, on 17/08 and 17/05/2017 respectively.
