IOC: election of 9 new members in Buenos Aires, 3 re-elected members including the Emir of Qatar

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), meeting for its session in Buenos Aires (ARG), has elected nine new members and has re-elected three others whose eight-year term expired on 09/10/2018. Four members whose terms expire become honorary members of the IOC.

The nine new members (see list below) are composed of five individual members (three women and two men) and four representatives of the Olympic Movement. The representatives were elected "following a proposal by the IOC Executive Board in July 2018," explained the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC, which had 95 active members before this election, now has 104 members.
