"Facebook does not have an unlimited budget for sports, we are experimenting with many business models around the world (see details below)," said Peter Hutton, director of global live sports partnerships and programming at Facebook, on 11/10/2018 during the 2018 Leaders Sport Business Summit, organized at the VIP areas of Stamford Bridge in London (ENG), the stadium of Chelsea FC (Premier League).

"Facebook will remain free, I think it's very important that it does. The danger of putting everything behind a pay window is that you do not touch your next audience. Young people enter gaming through a free environment, for instance. It is not on our agenda to be a content producer. Fundametally, our position is to be a platform that helps people to talk to the audience. It's all the more important as organisations like to control the message they send," continued the leader who left the pay-TV group Eurosport for Facebook in March 2018.
