FIFA: Michel Platini files lawsuit against "X", in France, for "slanderous defamation"

"Michel Platini has filed a lawsuit against 'X' for 'slanderous defamation' and 'criminal conspiracy to commit the offense of slanderous defamation.'" The complaint officially arrived on 14/09/2018 on the Deputy Prosecutor's Office of the Paris Tribunal," reported the French daily Le Monde on 12/10/2018.

UEFA president from 26/01/2007 to 08/10/2015, and then suspended from the latter date of any function in football for four years, Michel Platini wants to be cleared of the conditions under which the information relating to a payment of CHF 2m (€1.54m at the time of the payment, on 01/02/2011) from Joseph Blatter, then president of FIFA, was transmitted to the Public Ministry of the Swiss Confederation (MPC). The amount corresponded to adviser activities of Platini to Joseph Blatter during the 1999-2002 period.

"The opening of the investigation by the Swiss Prosecutor's Office, on 24/09/2015, is, in all likelihood, following from an internal leak," reported Le Monde.
