NBA: Sky acquires NBA broadcast rights for the UK and Ireland (2018-2022)

The British pay-TV group Sky has acquired the broadcasting rights to the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), for the UK and Ireland, for a four season period (2018-2022), on 15/10/2018. Previously, the BT Sport pay-TV package broadcast NBA games in the UK over the 2013-2018 cycle.

"Under the partnership, announced on Monday, Sky Sports becomes the NBA's exclusive broadcast partner and official website operator in the UK and Ireland. As part of the NBA's most extensive UK and ROI partnership ever, Sky Sports will broadcast extensive season-long games and programming, including more than 170 live games and a record number of live weekend primetime games (42) starting from 20.30 UK time (21:00 CET)," said Sky Sports.

Sky Sports will be offering regular season games (from 16/10/2018 to 10/04/2019), broadcasting highlights, as well as playoff games and the finals, but also the 2019 NBA All Star Game (from 15/02/2019 to 17/02/2019) and the regular season game in London, (Washington Wizards - New York Knicks, on 17/01/2019, at the…
