LaLiga: Kelme, most represented equipment supplier in 2018-19 (4 clubs), €234m for the 20 clubs

With four of the 20 clubs (20% of the total) under contract, the Spanish brand Kelme is the most represented equipment supplier in LaLiga Santander in 2018-19. Kelme dethroned the German brand adidas, the most represented equipment supplier in the Spanish first division since 2015-16.

This is the first time since 2012-13 (date of the first survey by News Tank Football) that a Spanish brand has topped the domestic championship. The presence of Kelme -- which had only one club under contract in 2017-18, Deportivo Alavès -- is due both to the new partnership concluded with Reial Club Deportivo Espanyol de Barcelona and the promotion of SD Huesca and Rayo Vallecano de Madrid to LaLiga Santander.

Five equipment supplier partnerships (25%) began in 2018-19, one more than in 2017-18 and three more than in 2016-17. At least four partnerships are scheduled to end in 2018-19, including Valencia CF and adidas. That's as many as in 2017-18, but three less than in 2016-17.
