UEFA: a 50% increase in funds dedicated to the development of women's football in Europe from 2020

"UEFA is increasing funding in its Women's Football Development Programme by 50% in order to show the organisation's commitment to supporting the women's game," announced the European confederation on 12/10/2018.

As part of the UEFA HatTrick development programme, UEFA's Women's Football Development Programme (WFDP) currently contributes €100,000 per year to each of UEFA's 55 national federations. This sum will be increased to €150,000 per year (+50%) from 2020.

"HatTrick is funded from revenues from the UEFA European Championship (Euro) and has invested more than €1.8bn back into the game since its introduction following UEFA Euro 2004 (in Portugal). The scheme has helped UEFA's members to build national training centres and invest in grassroots projects to develop football at all levels," said UEFA.
