AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) posted a turnover (excluding capital gains on player transfers) of €91.9m during the financial year 2018 (from 01/07/2017 to 30/06/2018), down 22.2% compared to in 2017 (€118.2m), according the Amsterdam (NED) club, on 28/09/2018.

Eliminated in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, then in the Europa League playoffs in summer 2017, Ajax did not participate in a European competition in 2017-18. This can explain the decline in revenue of the Dutch club, which reached the final of the 2016-17 Europa League (0-2 defeat versus Manchester United FC, on 24/05/2017).

AFC Ajax posted a net profit of €1.2m in 2018, down sharply compared to the previous year (€49.5m). Operating profit was negative, at -€13.2m, compared to a profit of €8.4m in 2016-17. Capital gains on player transfers reached €39.4m, down almost 50% from the record of €78.6m posted in 2016-17.

The club's wagebill amounted to €52.8m, which represents 57.5% of the turnover in 2017-18, compared to €55.1m in 2016-17 (46.6% of the turnover).
