Serie A: Ariedo Braida steps down as AC Milan's sporting director after 28 years at the club

Ariedo Braida has resigned as sporting director of AC Milan (Serie A, ITA), on the 31/12/2013. The manager of the Rossoneri had held the position since 2002, having served as general manager of the club from 1986 to 2002. Ariedo Braida's successor is not yet known.

"AC Milan thank Ariedo Braida ... for his precious collaboration for a very long time, characterised by prestigious results that must also be attributed to his important work," the club announced on the 02/01/2014.

Ariedo Braida has been accredited with the arrivals in Milan of the likes of Marco Van Basten (1987-1993), Andriy Shevchenko (1999-2006 and 2008-09), Kaka (2003-2009 and from 2013-14) and Thiago Silva (2009-2012).

  • AC Milan's new organisation chart was unveiled on 19/12/2013, establishing a shared responsibility between Barbara Berlusconi, daughter of the club's owner Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, Milan's managing director since 1986.
  • AC Milan now have two vice presidents, Adriano Galliani will oversee the 'sporting side' of the club, while Barbara Berlusconi will oversee all other sectors.
