FC Bayern Munich: club launches an optimised version of its website "for poor Internet connections"

"FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) is the first sports organisation in the world to launch an optimised website service explicitly for poor Internet connections," announced the club on 18/10/2018.

"lite.fcbayern.com will deliver all the news about the German record champions and will focus on fast, functional delivery of content instead of its graphical representation. The club wants to offer the new, relevant service especially in areas with a high prevalence of older mobile phones, poor mobile Internet connections and restrictions with regard to internet data packages," added the 2017-18 German champions.

According to the club, the optimised version of the website, initially offered in German, English and Spanish, is aimed at "certain areas in Africa, the Middle East and Asia", but also for use in rural areas or on public transport for countries that have good internet access.
