eSports: DFL launches an official competition for its clubs on the FIFA game (January to March 2019)

The "VBL Club Championship", the official competition for DFL clubs (Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga), on the FIFA 19 video game, will begin on 15/01/2019, according to the DFL on 22/10/2018. "Participating clubs may nominate a team of two to four players by 21/12/2018," added the German football league. 

The tournament, which complements the existing "TAG Heuer Virtual Bundesliga" competition, will crown a German eFootball champion in mid-March 2019. "Each team will face each other as in a league. Most matches will be played directly online and one top match per week will be played in a television studio. The matches each consist of three individual matches: two matches are played in individual mode (one on PS4 and one on Xbox One). The third game is played in a two versus two mode on a console designated by the club," said the DFL.
