Premier League: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer new team manager of Cardiff City FC

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed team manager of Cardiff City FC (Premier League, Wales), the Welsh club announced on the 02/01/2014. He takes over the Scotsman Malcolm Mackay, in office since the 17/06/2011 and sacked on the 27/12/2013.

The Norwegian was the manager of Molde FK (Tippeligaen, Norway's first division) since the 01/01/2011, with whom he won two league titles in Norway (2011 and 2012) and a national cup (2013).

"It’s a fantastic challenge for me. Cardiff City are ready to take that next step up and I hope I can help them", said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the 02/01/2014. "I’ve always dreamt of being a manager in the Premier League and I’m delighted to get the opportunity."

"I've seen Ole play for many, many years. I like his style of football and his ideas on the game," said Mehmet Dalman, chairman of Cardiff City. "He is an extremely good communicator. Common sense, pragmatic discussions and trust were the key in bringing Ole here."
