FC Barcelona: "We are the biggest club, the one with the most revenue" (J. Maria Bartomeu)

"We are currently the biggest club in the world, the one with the most revenue and impact throughout the world, we do not have unlimited resources like state clubs or those belonging to investment funds. We have considerable wealth and we have to grow the club," declared Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of FC Barcelona, on Catalunya Ràdio, on 22/10/2018.

FC Barcelona delegates approved a budget of €960m for the season 2018-19, at their annual general assembly on 20/10/2018. This budget forecasts revenues up 5% compared to 2017-18 (€914m), which would constitute a new record in the history of the club. Expenses are estimated at €929m, with net profit after tax reaching €11m (versus €13m in 2017-18).

"No club has ever reached such a budget, we are the highest-end sports club in the world, at the threshold of €1bn in turnover, an objective set by the management committee for 2021. All indications are that we will be able to achieve it before 2021," said Oscar Grau, CEO of the Catalan club, on 20/10/2018.
