Serie A TIM: Nuovo Inizio (group) becomes the majority shareholder (60%) of Parma Calcio 1913

Nuovo Inizio, a group of industry leaders from the Parma region, have once again become the majority shareholders of Parma Calcio 1913 (promoted to the Serie A TIM in 2018-19) with 60% of the club, according to the Italian club on 23/10/2018.

Nuovo Inizio ("New Beginning" in English) is a holding company that brings together some of the prominent entrepreneurs of Parma led by Guido Barilla (chairman and CEO of the agro-industrial group Barilla), and which was responsible for the birth of Parma Calcio 1913 (formerly Parma FC) in 2015. The Chinese businessman Jiang Lizhang (owner of the sports marketing agency Desports) had acquired 60% of the club, which at the time was playing in the Serie B ConTe.it, in November 2017, and became its president. Having become a minority shareholder, Nuovo Inizio had, however, retained 30% of the club's capital, and has now bought back 30% from Jiang Lizhang.
