CIES: Real Madrid has trained the most players in the Top 5 (36) ahead of Lyon (35) in 2018-19

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is, for the third time in a row, the club that has trained the most players out of the 98 clubs of the Top 5 (Premier League, LaLiga Santander, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 Conforama) in 2018-19, according to the weekly newsletter from the CIES football observatory, published on 29/10/2018. Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama), the most successful French club in terms of talent produced, ranks second.

With 36 Top 5 players who have played for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21, Real Madrid are ahead of Olympique Lyonnais (35) and FC Barcelona (34).

Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais FC are fifth, with 24 players, tied with Manchester United FC, the first English club in this ranking. 14 other French clubs are among the 50 clubs that have trained the most players in the Top 5, making France the most represented country with 17 clubs (see list below).
