"Mediapro is an opportunity for French football, it's an operator who knows the world of sports rights very well and Mediapro has paid for French football at its actual value. I have always said that French football has been undervalued compared to its real value in its domestic market. What Canal+ and beIN Sports paid seems small to me," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, to the French daily L'Équipe, on 31/10/2018.

The Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro acquired three lots of Ligue 1 Conforama broadcasting rights in France for the 2020-2024 cycle (lots 1, 2 and 4, namely the matches on Sunday at 21:00, Friday at 21:00, Saturday at 17:00, Sunday at 13:00 and the Sunday afternoon multiplex) of the seven proposed during the call for tenders, for an estimated €780m per season, on 29/05/2018.
