LaLiga Santander: 29,320 season tickets per club, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico top the Top 5

The 20 clubs of LaLiga Santander have an average of 29,320 season ticket holders in 2018-19, the best performance of the Top 5 European leagues (LaLiga Santander, Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 Conforama).

With 85,000 season ticket holders, FC Barcelona is the Spanish club with the most season ticket holders. Barça also top the European ranking, where they are ahead of two other LaLiga Santander clubs: Real Madrid CF (61,287 season ticket holders) and Club Atlético de Madrid (57,718). Seven Spanish clubs have more than 38,000 season ticket holders and are among the top 15 of the Top 5 European leagues.

An important feature of LaLiga Santander is that it is the only Top 5 league where season ticket holders are not automatically counted in the attendance figures for matches. A season ticket holder who does not attend a match is not taken into account, unlike in the other four leagues. This explains why the average number of season ticket holders for the LaLiga Santander clubs in 2018-19 (29,320) is higher than the average attendance in 2017-18 (26,894 spectators).
