SD Eibar: Shareholders approve the new training centre project in Areitio (€16m)

Sociedad Deportiva Eibar (LaLiga Santander) shareholders have chosen the Areitio site, located in the city of Mallabia (6km from Eibar) to accommodate the future training centre of the Basque club, during the club's annual general assembly, on 24/10/2018.

Two sites were proposed to the shareholders of the club by SD Eibar's board of directors: Areitio (cost of the project: €16m) and Azitain, located in the city of Eibar (cost: €18.2m). 11,692 people voted in favour of the Areitio site, compared to 6,071 for the Azitain site.

"Our future sports facilities will have four football pitches (two natural turf and two artificial), with the possibility of building a fifth pitch, if necessary. In addition, there will be a building for the first team (already built and refurbished), stands for the main pitch, changing rooms and parking. This project will allow us to have our own assets, which we currently lack. In addition, it will be used to bring together all the club's teams in the same space, which are currently spread over eight different sites," said SD Eibar.
