Brazil 2014: the Arena Das Dunas of Natal symbolically delivered on the 31/12/2013

The Arena Das Dunas of Natal (Brazil), one of the twelve stadiums for the 2014 World Cup (from the 12/06/2014 to the 13/07/2014), was symbolically delivered by the Brazilian organising committee and illuminated on the 31/12/2013, although construction work are not completed yet.

The official opening of the stadium will "probably" be held on the 20/01/2014, said the organising committee of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, on the 01/01/2014. The 31/12/2013 marked the original deadline required by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) to deliver the stadiums used during the competition.

The 2014 World Cup organising committee announced, on the 03/12/2013, that the six stadiums that were not used during the Confederations Cup (from the 15/06 to 30/06/2013) would not be delivered in 2013. "Two stadiums will be delivered in February rather than in January or December. Curitiba is the one where we are facing the most problems and won’t be delivered before the end of February 2014. That’s a fact," said Jérôme Valcke, FIFA general secretary, on the 03/12/2013.
