TV rights: Canal+ recovers Premier League rights (2019-2022) after losing Ligue 1 rights (2020-2024)

The TV group Canal+ will recover Premier League broadcast rights in France, over the 2019-2022 cycle, three years after losing them to Altice (Altice Europe since 08/06/2018), the current holder of these rights (2016-2019 cycle).

This acquisition comes five months after the loss of the Ligue 1 Conforama TV rights (2020-2024 cycle) to the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro and 18 months after the loss of rights to the Champions League (Canal+ broadcasted one game per matchday during the 2015-2018 cycle), now broadcast on RMC Sport (2018-2021 cycle).
