Aggreko, a company specialising in providing power solutions for events has become official partner of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, announced FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) on the 16/12/2013.

The company will provide the required broadcast power solutions to the IBC (International Broadcasting Centre) to broadcast all the matches played in all the twelve stadiums of the host cities of the competition. This partnership will save around €14.5 million in running costs for Brazil’s host cities, including up to € 3.6 million for the IBC in Rio de Janeiro only.

"To ensure that the images from the twelve stadiums are transmitted to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, it is essential that we have reliable and consistent broadcast power provided by temporary infrastructure. That is why I am delighted that Aggreko as a world leader in temporary power has joined the operational line-up" explained Niclas Ericson, FIFA TV Director.

Aggreko was already official partner of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and in Beijing (CHN) for the 2008 Olympic Games.
