Poland: Polsat to acquire the rights to Euro 2016, the 2014 and 2018 qualifiers of the national team

Polish free and pay TV group Polsat has acquired the rights in Poland to Euro 2016 (France, 10/06 to the 07/10/2016) and to the qualifying matches of the Polish national team for Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to the Polish press, on the 12/12/2013.

The deal was brokered by Eleven CAA, the agency managing and selling the rights to UEFA’s (Union of European Football Associations) international competitions. Estimated value of the deal : € 35 million, according to the Polish media.

The rights acquired by Polsat include the Polish national team's qualifying matches, which will be broadcast live on a free-to-air channel, and also a set of other qualifying games in the European zone, which will be accessible only to Polsat subscribers.

According to the Polish media, the deal between Polsat and CAA Eleven would cover the broadcasting of about 600 games over the 2014-2018 period, including the 51 matches of Euro 2016.
