The 20 clubs involved in the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander season have more than 444 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/11/2018. This figure makes the LaLiga Santander the most popular Top 5 European league on these three social networks, ahead of the Premier League. The Spanish league has an average of 22.8 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular club in Spain with over 205 million fans. The cumulative number of fans of the winners of the 2018 Champions League and FC Barcelona (2^nd in the ranking with more than 193 million fans in total) represents 89% of the total fans of the LaLiga Santander clubs on these three social networks. Third in the rankings, Club Atlético de Madrid has over 23 million fans.

On Instagram, FC Barcelona posted the best increase in the Top 5 during the month of October (+1.2 million followers), ahead of Real Madrid CF (+1.1 million) and Valencia CF reached the 500,000 followers mark on this social network.
