CAF Awards 2018: 11 trophies will be awarded at the gala held in Dakar (SEN) on 08/01/2019

11 trophies (see list below) will be awarded at the 2018 CAF Awards gala evening, "intended to honor footballers, officials and administrators who have distinguished themselves during the year", organised in Dakar (SEN), on Tuesday 08/01/2019, said the African Confederation on 05/11/2018.

According to the organising committee of the CAF Awards 2018, the titles of "African Player of the Year" and "Women's Player of the Year" will be determined by the following committees:
• The CAF technical and development committee.
• Media experts, legends, coaches of the quarter-finalists of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
• Coaches and captains of the 54 Member Associations.

"For the first time, FIFPro will coordinate the 'Africa Finest XI', while the 'Goal of the Year' will be chosen by a public vote online," added the organisers, who specified that "nominees will be selected based their performances between February and November 2018."
