eSports: 7 new investors (+€1.25bn) for Epic Games, publisher of Fortnite (game) now valued at $15bn

Epic Games, an American publisher of video games including the free-to-play game Fortnite has raised, with the help of seven investors (see list below), nearly $1.25bn (€1.1bn to 27/10/2018), on 26/10/2018.

Following this fundraising, Epic Games is valued at nearly $15bn (€13.1bn) according to the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal on 27/10/2018. The American publisher was valued at $8.5bn (€7.25m) by Bloomberg, an American group specialised in business and financial market services, on 24/07/2018.

These seven investors include Tencent, The Walt Disney Company and Endeavor (holding company of the US agency WME/IMG), shareholders of Epic Games. Tencent, a Chinese Internet and mobile services company, had obtained a 48.4% stake in Epic Games in 2012 (for $330m at the time, or €249.6m), according to US media ESPN, on 24/04/2018.
