England: Richard Heaselgrave leaves his position as chief commercial officer of the Football League

Richard Heaselgrave has left his position as chief commercial director of the Football League, on the 07/01/2014. Also known as the "Sky Bet Football League," the Football League is the body that organises competitions involving English and Welsh teams from the second to the fourth division (Football League Championship, Football League One, Football League Two).

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last two years but now is a good time to move on to fresh challenges. I’d like to offer my thanks to all the league’s commercial partners, its clubs and its staff for the support they have given me and I wish The Football League every success for the future," said Richard Heaselgrave on the 07/01/2014.

The British officer joined the Football League in January 2012 with the mission to develop the naming agreements between Capital One bank and the English League Cup (signed in May 2012) and between the betting company Sky Bet and the Football League (signed in July 2013), as well as to renew the broadcasting agreement between Sky Sports and the Football League (signed in July 2013).
