England: American writer John Green becomes sponsor of AFC Wimbledon (4^th Division)

The American writer and video blogger John Green has become the sponsor of AFC Wimbledon (Football League Two, the English fourth division) the club announced, on the 07/01/2014.

The 36-year-old author, whose last book « The fault in our stars » was elected book of the year in 2012 by the Time Magazine, is a proud supporter of the London club. Although the exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the advertising revenue from his YouTube videos could be given to the club. They amount to a total of 400 million views on the video-sharing platform.

"AFC Wimbledon is a truly extraordinary football club. Basically they're the best football team in the world and I want to help them stay in the football league," said the author. "This has been one of the most exciting and unique sponsorship deals that I have been involved with. John’s knowledge of the club is astounding and goes to show what a global reach AFC Wimbledon has. We look forward to working with John on many projects in the future" said Ivor Heller, commercial director of the club.
