"It will be held between the 15/11 and the 15/01 at the latest," said Jérôme Valcke, secretary general of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), about the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, on the 08/01/2014.

"Playing between the 15/11 and the end of December, that’s the time when the weather conditions are best, when you can play in temperatures equivalent to a warm spring season in Europe, averaging 25 degrees. That would be perfect for playing football," added Jérôme Valcke, in an interview to France Inter and France Info.

The secretary general does not specify, however, whether these dates refer to the end of 2021 or 2022.

FIFA's executive committee announced on the 04/10/2013 the organisation of a "consultation process among the main stakeholders concerned, including both the international football community (FIFA, confederations, member associations, leagues, clubs, players) as well as FIFA’s business partners (media rights licensees and commercial affiliates)".
