Premier League: Sky extends rights in the UK to clips and highlights on mobile (2019-2022 cycle)

The UK pay-TV group Sky extended its broadcasting rights for the Premier League for clips and game summaries on mobile in the UK for the 2019-2022 cycle, on 12/11/2018.

The package acquired by Sky includes:
- Clips and excerpts of matches in near-live, with the exception of matches between 13:45 and 17:15 local time
- Match summaries on demand

Sky has acquired the rights to broadcast 128 live matches of the Premier League in the UK in the 2019-2022 cycle for £1.193bn (€ 1.37bn) per season, on 13/02/2018.

• In addition to acquiring broadcast rights to highlights on mobile, Sky announced that the TV audiences for the 2018-19 Premier League matches broadcast on its channels were up 12% from the 2017-18 season.

• The group said that four matches have averaged more than 2 million viewers since the start of the 2018-19 season.

2019-2022 Premier League TV rights: 128 games per season on Sky Sports, 52 on BT Sport, 20 on Amazon Prime
