"Platini talks without knowing. From Nyon he doesn't know what's happening and I have never seen him in South America*," said former sporting director of Paris SG, Leonardo, about third-party ownership of players, on the 18/12/2013.

UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), which has been chaired by Michel Platini since 2007, is firmly against the principe that footballers may belong, in whole or partly, to investment funds or companies other than to clubs they play for.

"It is hard to understand that footballers, who have battled so much and so long to be independent of clubs, ending the old contract situation with the Bosman Ruling, are now controlled by third-party funds. I do not accept that. I am going to fight with all my strength against that system», said Michel Platini, President of UEFA, on the 12/12/2013.
