Argentina: public channel TV Pública to acquire the rights to the 64 matches of the 2014 World Cup

The Argentine State channel TV Pública has acquired the broadcasting rights in Argentina, to the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, from the 12/06 to the 13/07/2014), indicated Julio Grondona, president of the AFA (Argentine Football Association) and vice-president of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), Tristan Bauer, president of TV Pública, and Jorge Capitanich, chief of the cabinet of ministers of Argentina, on the 07/01/2014.

The 64 fixtures of the Brazilian World Cup will be broadcast for free, under the "Fútbol para todos" ("Football for All") programme of TV Pública and DeporTV, the digital channel of the public television, available via satellite.

32 matches will be live broadcast, especially the fixtures of the Agentine national team, as well as the opening match Brazil-Croatia and the best fixtures of the first round. The remaining 32 games of the tournament will be deferred broadcast.
