FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) have inaugurated the "Barça Experience" complex, located in Haikou on the island of Hainan, in the south of China, on 18/11/2018.

The complex, the first of its kind opened by the Catalan club, includes a 4,000m2 interactive museum, a 900m2 megastore and an academy (in operation since summer 2017). The project was developed in partnership with Mission Hills Group, a Chinese company specialised in hospitality, sport and leisure, with whom FC Barcelona created a joint venture in 2017, for an initial 10 year period, renewable for 10 additional years. The cost of the Haikou project is estimated at €8m by the Spanish media.

"Barça are working with the intention of the first team visiting the facilities during their 2019 summer tour. The team have a preseason trip to China and Japan scheduled, as part of the globalisation and brand expansion strategy that forms part of the current mandate’s Strategic Plan," said the club.
