Spain: Nations League TV audiences +56% compared to the national team's friendlies (Sept-Nov 2018)

The first four matches of the Spanish national team in the Nations League drew an average of 5.12 million viewers in Spain on the free-TV channel La 1, of the public TV group RTVE (Radio Television Espanola), between September and November 2018.

Over the same period, Spain's two friendly matches drew an average of 3.265 million viewers, on La 1, a difference of more than 56% compared to the four Nations League matches.

In Spain, during the 2018-2022 cycle, the rights to the national team's matches (Nations League, Euro 2020 qualifying matches, 2022 World Cup and friendlies) were acquired by RTVE (Radio Television Espanola) on 28/09/2017.

The free-TV group Mediaset España acquired the rights to broadcast Euro 2020 and matches of the European teams (excluding the Spanish team) for the competitions mentioned above, for the 2018-2022 cycle, on 02/08/2018.
