France: FC Sochaux (Domino's Ligue 2) faces the possibility of demotion at the end of the season

"A supervision of the wage bill, a recruitment ban (for players for a fee) and demotion as a precautionary measure at the end of the current sporting season (2018-19)," was the decision taken by the DNCG (French professional football control body) against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard (Domino's Ligue 2) "in the context of the review of the situation of clubs for the 2018-19 sporting season," and in accordance with Article 11 of the DNCG Regulations, on 22/11/2018.

"The DNCG has taken decisions similar to those taken at the same time last season," reported the club on 22/11/2018.

"Baskonia-Alavés, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz (ESP), will be responsible for the overall management of FCSM for three seasons (2018-2021)," announced FC Sochaux on 25/04/2018. Baskonia-Alavés, a sports club based in the Spanish Basque Country, manages both the basketball team Saski Baskonia Vitoria and the football club Deportivo Alaves, ranked fourth in the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander table after twelve matchdays (23 points, 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses).
