Fiji: Mai TV to acquire the TV rights to the Bundesliga in 2013-14 and 2014-15

Fijian free-to-air TV channel Mai TV has acquired the rights to the Bundesliga in Fiji, on the 08/01/2014.

The rights acquired from DFL Sports Enterprises, the company managing the media and commercial rights of the German professional football league, cover the second part of the 2013-14 season (starting on the 24/01/2014) and the 2014-15 season.

"This will be the first time to have the prestigious competition televised in the Pacific islands," said Marc Santos, CEO of Mai TV, on the 08/01/2014.

  • Mai TV, which holds the rights to the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, 12/06 - 13/07/2014) in Fiji, also declared on the 08/01/2014 that they were negociating to share the broadcasting rights with two other channels in Fiji, Fiji TV and FBC.
