2019 Women's World Cup: Nigeria and South Africa, the first African teams to qualify

"Nigeria and South Africa secured qualification to the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 following semi-final victories (versus Cameroon 0-0, 2-4 on pens, and Mali, 2-0, respectively) at the CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2018 on Tuesday," announced FIFA on 27/11/2018.

The third African team to qualify will be the winner of the match for third place, to be played between Cameroon and Mali, on 30/11/2018.

Nigeria, which has won the two previous editions of the CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations, will face South Africa in the final of the 2018 edition in Ghana, on Saturday 01/12/2018. South Africa will play in their fourth final (defeat versus Nigeria in 2000, and twice versus Equatorial Guinea in 2008 and 2012). South Africa defeated Nigeria in the group stage (1-0) at Cape Coast (GHA) on 18/11/2018.
