CAF: Cameroon will not host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (15/06-13/07/2019)

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, with its new formula of 24 teams (instead of 16) scheduled from 15/06 to 13/07/2019, will not take place in Cameroon, as originally planned, according to CAF after its Executive Committee meeting, at the Kempiski Hotel in Accra (GHA) under the presidency of Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), on 30/11/2018.

The Executive Committee meeting was organised ahead of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations final, Nigeria - South Africa (4-3 on pens), played on Saturday 01/12/2018. CAF's decision is based on the results of the recent inspection visits, one of which, from 27/10 to 01/11/2018, concerned safety and another, from 11 to 15/11/2018, was focused on facilities and infrastructure.

A video had shown "a significant delay as far as the delivery of infrastructure is concerned," said the African Confederation, on 28/09/2018 regarding the Cameroonian file.
