2019 Women's World Cup: Cameroon and New Zealand become the final teams to qualify

"The 24 teams who will be competing in the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 have now been confirmed, New Zealand qualified early this morning by winning the 2018 OFC Women's Nations Cup in the final against Fiji (8-0)," announced FIFA, on 01/12/2018. 

The previous day, Cameroon, winner of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) match for third place versus Mali (4-2, on 30/11/2018), obtained the third and final African place for the 2019 Women's World Cup, after the two earned by Nigeria and South Africa, finalists in the AWCON (0-0, 4-3 on penalties on 01/12/2018).

"Congratulations to the 23 teams who have qualified for the World Cup! I know that France and the French people will welcome them with open arms. Now it's all up to the draw. It is a truly crucial moment for all the coaches. We will finally find out who we will be playing against and be able to plan ahead for the competition and focus on more precise and specific objectives in our preparations for the World Cup," said Corinne Deacon, coach of the French Women's team, on 01/12/2018.
