TV rights in France: "We could move for the Champions League (in 2021-2024)" (J. Roures, Mediapro)

"We will look at the schedule of the call for tenders (for the 2021-2024 broadcast rights, in France, of the Champions League), and whether it has advanced or not. Depending on the date, we could move there. It is an interesting product because the French clubs participate in the Champions League, but we will not position ourselves (in France) on international rights and/or foreign championships," said Jaume Roures, president and founder of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, in the French sports daily L'Équipe on 05/12/2018.

"The Ligue 2 multiplex (eight games per matchday) was our priority, because this is complementary to our Ligue 1 offer (see below). We have eight games of each division on different time slots, so this is perfect. We will offer live coverage of the Saturday matches by opening additional channels. This system has already been operated in Spain (with LaLiga 1|2|3), so we know how to do this," added Jaume Roures.
