"Clubs are the 'heart of football' and key contributors, through their players, to the success of the FIFA World Cup. I'm proud that ECA has led the way in ensuring that clubs are properly recognised through this compensation scheme. The amounts distributed reaffirms the clubs’ central role in the continued success and development of the game at all levels," said Andrea Agnelli (ITA), president of the ECA, on 04/12/2018.

"$209m (€178.8m on 15/07/2018, the day of the final, €184m on 05/12/2018) will be paid out to 416 clubs from 63 member associations (full list of clubs available to download)," announced FIFA, regarding the profit share of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia redistributed by FIFA to the clubs whose players participated in the competition, on 04/12/2018.
