"RC Celta de Vigo (LaLiga Santander) is taking a giant step towards a hopeful and exciting future. The Council of Mos approved this afternoon the building permit that will enable the real and immediate beginning of the sports city, a project absolutely necessary for the development and improvement of the daily working conditions of both the first team and training centre," announced Real Club Celta de Vigo (LaLiga Santander), on 29/11/2018.

On 11/05/2018, the club selected the project presented by the architect firm Irisarri y Piñera (based in Vigo, Galicia) for the development of the club's new sports city in Mos. The new sports city, which is part of a larger project that also includes the renovation of the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos (29,000 capacity) and the installation of a shopping centre, will include a 4,000 seat stadium, eight football pitches (4 natural and 4 artificial), around ten changing rooms, a shop, a residence, padel and tennis courts, a swimming pool, two gyms and an auditorium. The cost of the project, which covers 224,000sqm, is estimated at around €45m.
