"Milan AC wish to communicate that Massimiliano Allegri and his staff have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect," announced the club, on the 13/01/2014.

"Mauro Tassotti will take charge, in the meantime, of the team," added Milan AC in their statement.

Massimiliano Allegri is the seventh Serie A manager to be sacked since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, and already the third in 2014.

Two former players of Milan AC are favorites to replace Allegri: Italian Filippo Inzaghi and Dutch Clarence Seedorf (born on the 01/04/1976), currently finishing his playing career at Botafogo (Brazil).

  • Massimiliano Allegri has been sacked after the defeat of this team, the seventh in 19 days, against Sassuolo (4-3) where Milan AC led 0-2 after a quarter of an hour, before conceding four goals in 32 minutes, scored by a 19 years old striker, Domenico Berardi.
  • Milan AC are 11th in Serie A, after 19 days, with 22 points (5 wins, 7 draws and 7 losses), 30 points behind leaders Juventus (52 points).
