UEFA: Visa (payment solutions) becomes the "first ever sponsor of UEFA women's football" (2018-2025)

Visa, a US payment solutions and financial services group, has become a sponsor of UEFA women's football for seven years (2018-2025), according to UEFA on 06/12/2018.

"The global payments technology company becomes the first ever UEFA sponsor dedicated to women's football, following the unbundling by UEFA of sponsorship rights from the men's game. The move to revolutionise the traditional sports sponsorship model was undertaken to help continue to foster the rapid growth of women's football across Europe, and to create more commercial opportunities to develop the game even further," said UEFA.

UEFA issued a call for tenders for the 2018-2021 sponsorship rights for the women's football competitions it is organising, for the "financial services" category, on 15/05/2018.
