Piracy: 4.6 million Italians stream sporting events illegally (IPSOS study)

4.6 million Italians over the age of 15 stream sporting events illegally, according to an IPSOS study commissioned by the FAPAV (Italian Federation for the Protection of Audiovisual and Multimedia Content), presented in part at a conference on piracy via IPTV, in Rome (ITA) on 29/11/2018.

23% of these hackers, or over one million people, use illegal IPTV. The number of acts of piracy of sports content has reached 21 million per year.

Football is the most pirated sport in Italy (by three out of four pirates), followed by Formula 1, MotoGP and tennis, according to the IPSOS study.
