eSports: a record 99.6 million people watch the 2018 World Championship League of Legends finals

99.6 million people around the world watched the final of the World Championship finals (played on 03/11/2018, Incheon, KOR) on the League of Legends video game, between Invictus Gaming and Fnatic (3-0), according to Riot Games, the American publisher of the game and organiser of the tournament, on 11/12/2018.

This is a new audience record for the eSports competition, the previous record being 80 million unique veiwers for the Samsung Galaxy - SK Telecom T1 (3-0) final played in Beijing (CHN) on 04/11/2017.

A peak audience of 44 million simultaneous viewers was recorded during the 2018 final broadcast in 19 languages on more than 30 platforms and television channels (see below).
