AC Milan: an awareness campaign against the piracy of audiovisual content

AC Milan (Serie A TIM) is launching an awareness campaign against the piracy of audiovisual content in Italy, according to the club on 09/12/2018.

"AC Milan, with a video starring the goalkeeper Pepe Reina, takes a strong and firm stance against all illegal uses of audiovisual contents of sporting events and in particular of football live matches," added AC Milan.

4.6 million Italians over the age of 15 watch sports events illegally, according to an IPSOS study commissioned by FAPAV (Italian federation for the protection of audiovisual and multimedia content), which was presented in part at a conference on piracy via IPTV in Rome on 29/11/2018.

• 23% of illegal streamers  or over 1 million people use illegal IPTV Television via IP, which is distribution of the TV signal via Internet Protocol.
  
  . The number of acts of piracy of sports content has reached 21 million per year.
• Football is the most illegally streamed sport in Italy (by three out of four illegal streamers) ahead of Formula 1, MotoGP and tennis, according to the IPSOS study.
